Expo 2020 Dubai appoints Rosterfy for event workforce management

Expo 2020 Dubai has appointed Rosterfy, said to be the world’s fastest-growing event workforce management

solution platform, to support and engage its large team of employees and volunteers.

Running from October 2020 to April 2021, the next World Expo will be recruiting 30,000 volunteers

working on site across a total of 1.2 million shifts, spanning the six-month period.

With over 200 nationalities living and working in Dubai, engaging and establishing a strong volunteer

base that can be mobilised for future large scales events will play a crucial role in the legacy of Expo

In selecting Rosterfy, Expo 2020 will utilise the global event workforce management platform for all

aspects relating to the volunteer program and general workforce delivery.

This will include recruitment, screening, streamlined matching of volunteers to the roles they are best

suited to and engaging the workforce throughout the event to show the difference they are making.

What’s more, volunteers will be able to access their own workforce portal, displaying their shifts and

related news via web and mobile application.

Mohammed Al Hashimi, Senior Vice President Innovation & Future Technology, Expo 2020 Dubai, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Rosterfy to the team, a business that will help us to engage fully with the

workforce that will make Expo 2020 possible. Rosterfy will play a crucial role in supporting the Expo and

will help the event to showcase Dubai as a centre for sustainability, innovation and connectivity.”

Shannan Gove, Co-Founder and Director of Business Development, Rosterfy, said: “We’re extremely

excited to be working alongside Expo 2020 Dubai and play a role in what will undoubtedly be an

incredibly successful event. The popularity of Rosterfy as a platform to assist in the recruitment,

management and training of event staff and volunteers around the world continues to grow. Building

volunteer networks is becoming a critical part of event legacy and economic impact and we’re proud to

play a central role in that. By adding the World Expo to our list of clients, we’re delighted to be able to

serve businesses across Asia, Europe, the U.S. and now, the Middle East.”

As the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, Expo 2020 is expected to

attract 25 million visitors, an unprecedented 70% of which will be from outside the UAE.
