Vision: 2025 Festivals at the Showman’s Show

The second meeting of Vision:2025 Festivals is taking place at the Showman’s Show on the afternoon of 18th October.

Entitled: Sustainability Skills & Knowledge Update, it will see 60 of the UK’s festivals, who have pledged to work together to improve environmental performance, share ideas and experiences and find out about the latest innovations in the industry.

Recently added to the programme is a session from Festival Republic and Comp-a-tent, who will jointly present their research conducted over the summer of 2017 on 'Turning Tent Waste into Future Resource.

Nationwide Caterers Association (NCASS) has also released more details about what they’re planning to discuss. The NCASS Trader Energy Calculator, launching later this year, aims to provide traders and event organisers with the information they need to reduce the power requirements of caterers at events, saving money on diesel and potentially infrastructure, while reducing unnecessary harmful emissions.

The Energy Calculator is part of the free to use NCASS ‘connect’ system which asks traders what equipment they are bringing to site, usage for each appliance and when it will be used. It then adds together the requirements at different points of the day to enable event organisers and power providers to plan more accurately.

NCASS consider the Energy Calculator to be a key factor in their commitment to supporting Powerful Thinking and Festival Vision:2025.
