Showforce and Stage Wolves crewing collaboration

Global specialist in event support Showforce Services Ltd, has announced a unique crewing collaboration with Midlands based crewing company Stage Wolves Ltd. The joint venture will provide both companies with a strong regional presence across the UK, increasing their capacity whilst providing robust and skilled crewing solutions for national and local events.

The two businesses have enjoyed a successful relationship, having worked together on various projects on a regular basis, for a number of years now. This new contract cements and formalises the existing arrangement and establishes a skilled workforce in both companies’ geographic regions to deliver outstanding events. Rather than opening more and more offices, Showforce want to offer their clients the most cost effective solutions, believing it is better to make use of the local knowledge and expertise that is in existence, not step on their toes.

Commenting on the collaboration, chief executive and founder of Showforce and parent company Spendlove Group, Ian Spendlove said: “We have a good relationship with Stage Wolves, they provide crew that meet our exacting standards. Whilst Showforce is undoubtedly a much larger company, we want to assist Stage Wolves with their plans for growth and the challenges that running a crewing company brings, from changes in PAYE rules to CDM, it’s a minefield and can be difficult for smaller businesses. In the same way that we know London, Liverpool and the Middle East, the Stage Wolves team knows the Midlands and it makes sense for them to keep their own name and reputation. They also work closely with other companies within the Spendlove Group so it makes sense all round.”

The agreement assures clients are dealt with a professional approach and mutually agreed safety standards and enables both parties to provide crew, across the UK, who provide a cost effective and comprehensive range of integrated event services. The alliance champions Showforce’s vision to work with smaller crewing companies and create a strong regional presence alongside organic growth. It makes sense to champion collaboration within regional crewing companies, working together ultimately makes everyone stronger.

Showforce has been supplying crewing solutions internationally for 25 years whilst Stage Wolves has over 20 years’ experience in providing crew to events. Both provide: site and stage managers, event, production, show, stage and technical crew, plant operators and IPAF operators. In addition, they also supply overlay support, event staff, specialist vehicle marketing operatives, administration support and transport services.

Stephen McCalmont, director of Stage Wolves is extremely well connected and regularly works alongside Live Nation. The company is renowned for delivering exceptional standards within Health & Safety, Stephen is an IOSH graduate and of their crew managers have IOSH supervisor level training as a minimum, which sits perfectly with Showforce’s own ethos. Stephen comments: “The joint venture with Showforce cements our relationship and provides a great opportunity for both companies to access new markets and support and represent one another. We have a common aim of providing great staff across the country, wherever and whenever they are needed.”

Spendlove concludes: “This is the first of many collaborations for Showforce, we have relationships with large companies all over Europe, the USA, Middle East and China and are in discussions that will bring similar initiatives to the market. No other crewing company has ever looked at this on such a large scale. In addition, strengthening Showforce’s global presence will deliver long term benefits for the Spendlove Group’s on-going plans for expansion,” added Spendlove.
